Ukrainians make their everyday life easier due to small appliances

According to 2007 results, Ukrainians bought almost 6,200 thousand units of small domestic appliances having spent 368 million dollars thereon. Compared to 2006 figures, the rate of growth of the small domestic appliances market decreased. In volume sales have grown by 11% only, while the value dimension has shown 30% of increase (whereas in 2006 the market developed by 50% in both dimensions). Moreover, sales in volume have dropped by 11% in December 2007 (compared to December 2006). With various sorts of models (food processors, blenders, mixers, grinders/mincers, etc.), food preparation appliances has driven the growth in volume terms. In value, this role was played by vacuum cleaners. This is evidenced by results of the durables sales monitoring carried out by GfK Ukraine, as part of the Retail and Technology panel in 45 cities with populations of 100 000 or more.
